Glasgow: Best Bars in Finnieston

Are you one of those who are eagerly waiting for payday to arrive this weekend to finally be able to go out for a drink (or two)? If yes, you're not alone! In Glasgow, one thing is true: with a pub on (at minimum) every corner, you're never short of bars for a good night out. One of my personal favourite hangout areas is Finnieston. Therefore, I have compiled a list of the best bars in the neighbourhood:

Kelvingrove Café - 1161 Argyle Street

One of Finnieston's coolest hangouts with retro furnishings and artsy decor. The owners had a vision of making it into a trendy version of a Victorian European Grand Café - and it shows! So, if you want to enjoy great cocktails and delicious eats in a social atmosphere with Victorian roots: Kelvingrove Café is your bet!

The Finnieston - 1124 Argyle Street

A speakeasy-style bar and restaurant dishing up some heavenly seafood and a large menu of luscious cocktails. If you're heading out in Finnieston, make sure to tick this one of the list! The service is great too and they're always up for a chat, especially about the compelling history of the venue.

Rioja - 1116 Argyle Street

Rioja will be treating Glasgow foodies to an exciting culinary experience

Stunning Spanish tapas dishes, fun cocktails, inviting atmosphere and upscale ambience with a funky twist: a cheap escape from rainy Glasgow to the colourful Mediterranean! Bear in mind, though, that the place is quite small and is bound to be cramped over the weekends. So, if you're planning on going for a meal on a Friday or Saturday night: book in advance!

Bloc+ Pop Up - 10 Claremont Street

Bloc+ pop up serves popular food and drinks at competitive prices

As opposed to the neon sign conveying the message of not being for everyone: this bar offers a relaxed environment for all walks of life! In the same spirit as the propelled independent live music bar & venue Bloc+ (which is to be found on Bath Street), here you'll find popular food and drinks at competitive prices along with eclectic DJs. All in all, a great social hangout with a nice vibe!

Chinaskis - 239 North Street

A secret bar on the side of the motorway with a surprisingly classy yet chilled-out atmosphere. The mix of hushed lighting, contemporary decor and fab details is truly divine and I can, hands down, confess that this is one of my all-time favourite bars. Best of all, and something to keep in mind for the warmer seasons; they got (as far as I am aware) Glasgow's best beer garden!

The Berkeley Suite - 237 North Street

As you might have figured out, I am into this whole mysterious thing of hidden bars, stylish decor and vintage feel... and the ambience of Berkeley Suite is no different with its old-time dancehall decor and blinding club nights! Apart from enticing settings and refreshing drinks, they also have a great line-up of hot gigs playing throughout most Thursdays-Saturdays.
